CONCERT IN THE PARK WAS A SUCCESS

The NBA thanks all the nearly 200 attendees of the July 27 concert in Nokesville Park. The second and final concert featured Patrick Mulhern, with pre-performance music by the Woodbridge Flute Quartet.

Patrick Mulhern, a nationally-known Irish tenor and Nokesville resident, introduced his teenaged daughter Bridget and his youngest, 6-year-old Nora. Bridget sings with him on his latest recording, Spirit of Ireland. Nora debuted with a duet with Patrick and an Irish dance. Patrick was also accompanied by a pianist and percussionist.

In keeping with the evening’s musical theme, the Woodbridge Flute Quartet, part of the Woodbridge Flute Choir, featured Irish music. Nokesville Boy Scout Troop 671 served up hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, drinks and ice cream.

We especially want to acknowledge the hard work of Dona Swanson, NBA’s Secretary and Supervisor, Nokesville Neighborhood Library, for putting the concert series together for the community. She is already working on next year’s summer series and looks forward to seeing you and your family and friends there.
