NBA Technology Award Nominees

Scott Lewzcak of Artworks -- Jim Kenner, Wisdom Software

The NBA was given the opportunity to nominate Nokesville businesses for the Prince William Area Technology Achievement Award given annually in the spring. Of the more than 250 businesses in the Nokesville area, many of which have talented people and involve high technology, the NBA selected two companies: Artworks, owned by Scott Lewczak, and Wisdom Software, Ltd., owned by Jim Kenner, and helped them prepare nomination packages.

Scott Lewczak is a small, award-winning graphics arts studio specializing in high-end graphics. Jim Kenner develops and teaches better engineering methods for developing software, and provides the tools to make those methods practical. The nominations were submitted to the Prince William Economic Development Council in early March. Though neither candidate was selected, the letters to the nominees cited the judges' very favorable impressions of the accomplishments of the two companies.

We will get the nomination information earlier about next year’s award and alert our membership. The PWC Economic Development Council looks for local companies that have developed a new technology or has applied their existing technology creatively. Finalists receive media promotion, an opportunity to promote their company’s achievement at Business Appreciation Week events and the option to partner with the County at a national trade show.

If you believe your company may meet the criteria for the award, please let the Vice President, Tony Slaga, know, so you can be considered for next year.
