Stan Yoder, owner of Windy Hill Forge, Inc., is a talented individual in working a variety of metals. His love and passion for shaping hot iron into ornate objects such as gates, railings, lamps, tables and a variety of household items, yield a great sense of accomplishment which is vital to one of his mottos: "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might."
He declares that because of the Christian values he holds, his conscience bears upon him the duty of being completely trustworthy and honest. Occasionally, Stan is engaged with clients that are extremely wealthy. The natural tendency is to escalate the cost of the product just because of their wealth; but, wait a minute, the Bible says, "A good name goes before wealth". Windy Hill Forge’s business is God’s business. Why? Because God sees our future, we cannot. This type of custom iron business can either be feast or famine.
When asked what are some good guidelines and lessons learned, Stan says: 1. Don’t make any commitments you cannot keep, unless of course, there’s an emergency that arises. 2. Keep your attitude toward money in check, and learn to trust God for your business’ future. 3. Remember that your talents and resources are gifts from God – so – be a good steward of those along with making honesty and integrity the greater part of your portfolio and your business will prosper.
We have all heard the old adage, "What goes around comes around". It’s true!
Stan’s wife, Brenda, is the secretary/treasurer for the business. He says she is indispensable, as she is equally a major player in the scheme of things. They have two children, Scott and Brittany. The Yoder family attends Manassas Assembly of God, where he and his wife teach Sunday School.
